Generate an API key to use for the Google Maps API

Generate Google Maps API Key

A Google API key is required for every Google Maps implementation. Below is a set of steps to make the process of generating this API key easy.

Step 1: Visit Google Cloud Platform Console

Go to the Google Cloud Platform Console.

Step 2: Create or select your project

Then, click on the project dropdown in the top left-side of the top navigation bar, and create a project or select an existing project.

Step 3: Go to the Credentials Page

Next, click on the menu button in top left-side of the top navigation bar, and click on the “APIs & Services” > “Credentials” page

Step 4: Create Google Maps API key credential

Next, on the Credentials page, click the “Create credentials” dropdown button and select the “API key” option

Step 5: Copy the API key

Next, copy the API Key provided by the Google Cloud Platform and paste this key to use in your implementation.
